RE: 54 footer

The photo shows "Luxury by Design".
I can't find a manufacturer site, but here is a similar, albeit much shorter, model:

Does he double tow the cargo trailer behind that, with the 1-ton Dodge, of course?

RE: Incoming WiFi signal booster

You can't 'boost' an incoming signal. Either you can receive the signal, or you can't. If it isn't strong enough to receive, it can't be boosted.
If an incoming signal is strong enough to be 'boosted', then you don't need to boost it, because you are already receiving the signal.
You can only boost your outgoing signal.

RE: The handle came off in my hand

I would try putting some instant miracle glue on the first 1/2" of the rod shove it back in, wait 24 hours & try to dump, then replace it.
That sounds dangerous. The glue could seal that valve for good.

RE: Our First Trip "Out West"

Great idea, but WY, CO and MT are 'west' in the same way WI, IL and MO are 'east'.
There's still a long way to go before you get to the west coast.

RE: New Jayco Legacy is here

So, is it new, or is it legacy?
Something handed down from an ancestor or a predecessor or from the past
Sorry, couldn't resist.

RE: Does anyone have FIOS yet?

FIOS was laid in my neighborhood about a year ago. They started hooking customers up this past spring. We've had it for about 3 months.
Had Verizon DSL, previously.
We now have 5Mb/2Mb internet service. That, along with phone, including call-waiting, caller-ID, unlimited long-distance, is $70/month.
ALL customer service is bad, so I don't even consider that when I look at a service.
We also have DirecTV so that we can use it in the RV.

RE: Cover a gasser's grille in the winter?

If the 'heater' is still blowing cold, then your engine hasn't warmed up to the point that you're even moving coolant through the engine. Your engine is insignificantly affected by the external air. It's the coolant, in the radiator, that's affected by the air movement.
A grill cover won't help anything.
Take a look at this link: http://www.2carpros.com/how_does_it_work/cooling.htm
The thermostat, that controls water flow, never opens on your trip to work. If it did, you would get warm air from your vents. Only hot water (180* +) leaves the thermostat. From there, it goes directly to your 'heater' vents, and then to the radiator to be cooled.
You need to pre-heat the engine, whether that is the block or the oil, as already mentioned.

RE: Tell me about tailgating

At Washington State, we sleep (up to 3 nights per weekend) in the RV in a lot right across the street from the stadium.
http://www.wsucougs.org-a.googlepages.com/IMG_4170-3.jpg
How much food depends on how many of us there are. We often have just two. But, last weekend we had 12 (6 under the age of 11).
We'll have an all-guys outing, four of us, in a couple weeks.
Some of the groups in the lot have multiple RVs together. One group brings a couch that they put out by a fire pit.

RE: Reliving some stress

We heard there was a recession, but decided not to participate. We're still working, driving, RVing, eating, buying, spending, and living.
It's a lot more fun this way.
Well said.

RE: Why do I have to subscribe?

In your preferences, you can set it to automatically subscribe whenever you post.
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/myforums/subAction/preferences.cfm
I find it much easier to delete threads from My Forums when I am done with them, then to constantly have to decide if I want to subscribe to a thread.
You can also change it to 20 posts per page, so that long threads don't take so many pages.

RE: Slow Learne, or poorly written manual

Lee
You just haven't seen enough cruise controls yet ;)
Mine is simply marked "Cruise control on and off, set, resume".
However the set also doubles as a decel and the resume doubles as a accel.
And yes I remember when air conditioning was 470 ( 4 windows down going 70 mph).
Steve
HUH?!? Isn't that what I said? The functionality is their on all cruise controls.
Every cruise control I've ever seen has Accel and Decel buttons, labeled in different fashions.

RE: Leave hitch attached to camper, any problems.

Putting it back is more work than unhitching and leaving it attached.
?????????????
But the whole idea is that he doesn't want the hitch in the bed. He doesn't want to 'leave it attached'.

RE: Poop Solution

I think all city parks should supply shovels for dog owners to pick up after their dogs, then there won't be a problem.
I think that all parks should provide propane grills.

RE: Why back click twice to get out of topic/post/forum?

All you can do is hope that this weekends upgrade will fix the problem.
By the way, I don't have this problem; I use FireFox. I don't know if that's why, I just thought that it might be relevant.
